SWEET Potatoes may be the death of our healthcare system

Recently my dad has been in the hospital dealing with pneumonia and other issues related to not handling anesthesia very well.  However, after he was making an impressive comeback, he woke up with pain in his abdomen.  The doctors jumped in to action and ran a cat scan and x-rays
and etc. and so forth.  While we are sitting with Shirley, his significant other and primary caregiver, waiting for the results of the tests, she leans over to me and says--"I know what it is.  He had sweet potatoes last night and they give him gas."

YIKES--those were some expensive sweet potatoes and Medicare was billed for all of those tests and doctor visits.  This is a simple example of what can happen when we are spending OTHER PEOPLES MONEY.  We all somehow need to find a way to speak up when we see a "Sweet Potato" situation in our lives especially when dealing with medical situations and medicare.
