Marble for Dale Carnegie Days

The other day I came across an award I got during my Dale Carnegie days. It’s a marble. A simple little thing, with a whole lot of meaning.

It was given as a Golden Rule Award. This award was started by the people who at the time owned Samsonite luggage.

For those unfamiliar with this rule, the Golden Rule was given by Jesus of Nazareth. It states: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

A powerful message we (with all our differences) can get behind. And in fact, in a way we do. Every major religion subscribes to its own version of this rule.

And what does that really mean, to treat others the way we’d like to be treated? What does it mean to YOU? How do you want to be treated? How can you pay that forward to others?

How can we be the goodness we wish to see in the world?
